Brown Butter Co. is a Mumbai-based digital design and development studio. Our website is located at https://brownbutter.co. By engaging with our services or using our website, you agree to the terms outlined in this document. For any questions, reach us at contact@brownbutter.co.

Brown Butter Co. provides website design, web development, and related digital services. The scope, timeline, deliverables, and fees for each project are agreed upon individually and confirmed in writing before work begins. Any changes to the agreed scope after sign-off may affect the timeline and fee, and will be quoted separately before any additional work commences.

Payment terms are agreed upon at the start of each engagement and outlined in the project proposal. All advance payments are non-refundable and serve to secure your project slot in our schedule.

The project timeline begins only once the advance payment has been received and all content has been submitted in full as per the onboarding checklist. Content delays are not Brown Butter Co. delays and will shift the project start date accordingly.

The completed website will remain password-protected and inaccessible to the public until all outstanding payments have been cleared in full. Going live is contingent on payment confirmation.

We reserve the right to pause or discontinue work if payments are not made in accordance with the agreed schedule.

The project timeline begins from the date on which both the advance payment has been received and all content has been submitted as per the onboarding checklist. Neither condition alone is sufficient to start the clock.

Timelines are contingent on timely feedback and content delivery from the client. Delays caused by late feedback, missing content, or scope changes beyond the agreed brief will extend the timeline accordingly and do not constitute a delay on the part of Brown Butter Co.

Client feedback at each stage is expected within 2 business days of submission. Delays beyond this extend the project timeline.

If a project becomes inactive for 45 or more consecutive days due to non-submission of content, lack of feedback, or client unresponsiveness, Brown Butter Co. reserves the right to formally close the project file. All payments made to date are non-refundable regardless of project status.

• Recommencement within 3 months of closure: a 20% recommencement fee on the remaining project balance is required before work resumes.
• Recommencement after 3 months: a fresh quotation will be issued at current pricing. Previous payments made are not adjusted against the new quote.

Each project includes a defined number of revision rounds as specified in the proposal:

• Design phase: up to 2 rounds of consolidated feedback to refine the selected design direction. Revision rounds are understood to be refinements within the agreed direction — not requests for a completely new design concept.
• Development phase: 1 round of consolidated feedback covering layout and functionality. Design changes are not accommodated once the design has been locked and approved.

All feedback must be submitted as a single consolidated response. Feedback delivered in real time during calls, or in multiple separate messages, does not constitute a revision round and will be treated as ongoing correspondence only.

Requests that fall outside the agreed scope will be scoped and quoted separately, and require written approval before any additional work begins.

A 30-day post-launch support period is included with every completed project, at no additional charge. This covers technical issues and bugs directly related to the work delivered by Brown Butter Co.

Post-launch support does not include new feature requests, design changes, content updates, copywriting, or issues arising from third-party platforms, plugins, or hosting environments. Additional support, updates, or ongoing content management after this 30-day period are billed separately.

Upon receipt of full and final payment, the client owns the final delivered website and its design assets. Brown Butter Co. retains the right to display the completed work in our portfolio, on our website, and across our marketing materials unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Any third-party assets used during the project — including fonts, stock imagery, or plugins — remain subject to their respective licensing terms. It is the client's responsibility to ensure continued licensing compliance after handover.

The client is responsible for providing accurate content, brand assets, and timely feedback at each stage of the project. Brown Butter Co. is not liable for delays or outcomes resulting from incomplete, inaccurate, or late content provided by the client.

The client is responsible for designating a single point of contact to coordinate content, feedback, and approvals throughout the project. Multiple uncoordinated contacts may cause delays for which Brown Butter Co. is not responsible.

The client is responsible for reviewing and approving all deliverables before the project is marked complete.

Brown Butter Co. will not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services or the delivered website. Our total liability in any matter is limited to the fees paid by the client for the specific project in question.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from our services or these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
